Hand painted kitchen Berkshire Windsor: We were commissioned to refresh and update a hand finished kitchen in the south of England. Hand painted kitchen Berkshire. Hand painted kitchen Berkshire Windsor.
This hand painted kitchen was well made but looking a little tired and in need of a repaint. As with every kitchen we hand paint, we started by protecting all of the areas we didn’t want paint on.
Preparing the kitchen.
After we had protected all worktops and flooring, we removed all of the kitchen furniture. The first process was to clean and degrease the units. The product we used was HSP Degreaser from Holman Specialist Paints in Swindon. HSP Cleaner/Degreaser is a ready to use, alkaline, non-flammable. It is virtually an odour-free cleaning/degreasing solution to remove grease, oil, dirt and many other surface contaminants. Also being used on coated, mineral and steel substrates.
With the kitchen prepared, we decided to use Otex Adhesion Primer. This is a matt paint. A quick drying special resin based primer and undercoat for use on interior and exterior surfaces.Hand painted kitchen Berkshire Windsor

The client’s had chosen a colour called Borrowed Light by Farrow and Ball. They wanted a satin finish so we decided to use Feelings Furniture Paint in a satin finish. Feelings or Helmi Furniture Paint is a matt, semi-matt or gloss low-odour, non-yellowing, waterborne acrylate latex finishing paint. It is recommended for interior wood panelling, doors, skirting, architraves, furniture, cabinets, walls, MDF, radiators and can also be used on primed metal. This is especially good for repainting interior surfaces previously coated with waterborne, alkyd or acid catalysed paints.
Client Review.
We had a bespoke painted kitchen which had become very tatty and chipped. Not really wanting to replace it we researched options. We found Kevin on the internet and he provided a very reasonable quotation and was happy to provide references. All of whom spoke so highly of him. We decided to go ahead and have the kitchen re-painted. We are very glad we did as Kevin and Tom have done a fantastic job. I have to say, it is now better than it was when it was new! We are absolutely delighted with the finished result and I have no hesitation in recommending Kevin and Tom.
